All pieces must be weighed and accounted for. Pieces are weighed and payed for before each firing (biscuit & glaze).

Electric Kiln (cone 06 up to cone 6)
$1 per pound for students and studio potters
$1.5 per pound for open studio potters (hourly renters)

Gas Kiln (cone 10)
$1.5 per pound for students and studio potters
$ 3 per pound for open studio potters

Note: Students can fire up to 25 pieces for a 7 week class for free, then pay per pound beyond that. Any student piece over 12” in height or width must be payed for, unless it was part of class project. All pieces weighed will be accounted for as having no less than .20 in weight (you can stack biscuit ware).

Firing by the kiln load

Studio potters are allowed to fire by the kiln load. They are expected to
load and unload their own kilns. A $25 loading fee ($60 for gas kiln)
will be added if they need the studio to load their kiln.

Small Electric Kiln (23x23x27) 6.7cubic feet

$35 glaze (cone 5 to 6)

Large Electric Kiln (28x28x27) 10.2 cubic feet

$50 glaze firing (cone 6)

Glaze Fee

Students receive free glazes with their 25 pieces. Studio potters and
open studio potters pay for use of studio glazes.

$.25 per pound to be calculated on top of weight.
