Dani Pugel
Danielle Pugel started young in the arts, finding that working creatively with her hands helped her pass the time growing up in rural Indiana. Metal working was her first 3D passion, but clay pretty quickly took over her life. After high school, Dani earned Bachelors degrees in both Ceramics and Sculpture from Herron School of Art and Design. Since graduating, she has worked interesting and education-focused clay jobs since: Marketing and Social Media for AMACO, teaching at different community studios (even on The Wheel Mobile down in Fayetteville, AR), assisting sculptors Linda Lopez and Kensuke Yamada and more.
Over the course of her own studio clay practice, Dani has focused on surface design techniques and underglaze’s many tricks and possibilities. The material chemistry and breaking down the mysteries and magic of clay into knowable and controllable results are the kinds of things that keep Danielle in the studio and teaching others.
