Derryl Craddock

Derryl received his Bachelors of Art Education from Ball State University and a Masters in Art Education from Herron School of Art and Design with an emphasis in ceramics. He recently retired as an art educator after 40 years of teaching in Warren Township Schools. The last 16 years he taught ceramics at Warren Central High School. His teaching style promotes a fun, interactive, social atmosphere while concentrating on the technical aspects of wheel throwing. He enjoys meeting his students wherever they are in their ceramic journey and accompanying them as their skills develop. His personal work explores the use of form and function, surface decorations, and altered pieces. “I like to create in such a way to express what only clay can do!”

As an Indianapolis native, he is an avid open-wheel race fan. He has attended multiple races in different states, but has been to every Indianapolis 500 since 1972. He’s married to an incredible woman, has 2 accomplished adult daughters that live in New York and Florida, and 3 totally awesome grandchildren that call him Papa.
