Jen Tully

Jen Tully started hand building with clay when she was 10 years old while visiting her elderly neighbor's home studio. She studied independently through the years until 2019, when she started taking wheel throwing classes at Fountain Square Clay Center (FSCC). Learning from Chris DePrez, Rebecca Ito, and Peggy Breidenbach, she eventually became a FSCC studio potter and teacher. She has a home studio in Indy where she continues to learn independently through practice and experimentation, and from the Indy Clay Community.

Jen’s clay creations are primarily functional art made using a combination of wheel throwing and hand building. She likes to use porcelain clay as a canvas for surface design playing with contrasting colors and textures. She likes to use stoneware to focus on form with a more restful surface design. She also does raku and rabbit hair firings, using donations from her angora bunnies.
