Rodney Black

Rodney grew up in Cambridge City, Indiana, home of the four Overbeck sisters, who were ceramic artists of the Arts and Crafts Movement in the early 20th century.  He received his BFA from Indiana State University, where he studied under Kira Kalondy. Kira’s unique style of throwing pots, slicing them up, and then reconstructing them into sculptures has influenced Rodney’s own work. Rodney is a studio potter, teacher, and clay mixer at Fountain Square Clay Center.
