Setting a Place: Local Potters & Chefs
Fountain Square Clay Center takes local to a new level with a plate to palate event, Setting a Place: Local Potters & Chefs. Fountain Square Clay Center brings together ceramic artists from across Indiana and connects them with leading chefs of Indianapolis.
How food is presented impacts your eating experience. Place setting is an intersection of design, food, and art. This show will explore form, arrangement, and function of handmade wares, and imagine how we share meals and the pots that serve them.
17 local potters will display their interpretations of a place setting, while local chefs, Jonathan Brooks (Milktooth), Neil Brown (Stella, Libertine, Ukiyo & Pizzalogy), and Erin Kem (Cannon Ball Brewery), provide tastings. Ceramic artists will demonstrate and discuss their process. Chefs will demonstrate food plating on local artists’ wares. Taxman Brewery will serve beer. Discounted admission tickets available thru eventbrite for $35 (includes tastings & 1 beverage) until September 30th.
