Operating out of an old industrial building that once made packing “peanuts”, supplied sheet metal, and old Ford parts, Fountain Square Clay Center provides a fully equipped clay studio for exploring clay. Our studio offers beginning and intermediate classes, and studio rental opportunity for studio potters needing their own space, but wishing to be a part of a community of ceramists and potentially a much bigger gallery. With 30 feet of ceiling height, skylights pouring in natural light, and a large open area, the space lends itself to social gatherings and special events.
7 Week Course in Pottery. Students receive a 2 hours of instruction every week and are allotted free Open Studio hours to practice on their own. Students receive 25lbs of clay, free glazes and firing, but will need to bring their own tools, or can purchase tools at the studio.
One Night Classes are a great way to get a taste of pottery and have a fun night out trying something different with your friends. Students receive 2 hours of instruction in the basics of wheel throwing. Students pay individually for each pot they want to have fired and glazed.
Open studio is a good time for students to practice their pottery skills and work on projects that require more time. Students should sign up for open studio online the day before they plan to come into the studio. Open Studio hours: Saturday 12pm-4pm Sunday 12-4pm
